Refund/Exchange, Warranty, and Cancellation Policies

Refund/Exchange/Warranty on Avian Products -- Fairest Finches & Supply ("FF&S") does not warranty or guaranty avian products sold on this website.  Manufacturer warranties apply where applicable.  All information and avian products presented on this website are provided on an "As Is" basis, without warranty or the implication thereof.  Under no circumstances shall FF&S be liable to any party for any direct, indirect, special or other consequential damages incurred by the instructions or products sold on this website.  The owners and employees of FF&S are not licensed veterinarians. Customers are responsible for consulting with their veterinarian before taking any actions based on advice or information provided on or linked to this website.

If you are not 100% satisfied with an avian product purchased from this website, Fairest Finches & Supply will exchange items returned in their original, sealed packaging if returned within thirty (30) days of the date of purchase or refund the purchase price of the item (shipping and handling costs are excluded).  Additional shipping and handling charges may apply to exchanged items.  In addition, FF&S charges a re-stocking fee equal to fifteen percent (15%) of the cost of merchandise that is returned for reasons other than manufacturer defect.  Perishable items, including but not limited to seed, avian supplements, and avian medications, are non-returnable and not subject to refunds or exchanges.  FF&S shall not be held responsible for uninsured or under-insured merchandise that is damaged during shipping via the U.S. Postal Service.  Customers are required to file a loss claim with United Parcel Service ("UPS") for any and all merchandise that is damaged during shipping via UPS.  Please contact us within five (5) business days of receipt of your merchandise for instructions on how to return an item for an exchange or refund.

Refund/Exchange/Warranty on Live Birds -- Fairest Finches & Supply does not guaranty the life of the birds sold on this website.  Each pet owner has a moral responsibility to the animal to provide proper care for the animal.  As such, FF&S will provide customers who purchase a bird with information to properly care for the bird.  FF&S guarantees the health of the birds sold on this website until such time as the customer takes possession of a purchased bird.

This "Live Birds" policy should in no way be interpreted or construed as a means of selling unhealthy birds.  Fairest Finches & Supply will not assume financial liability for birds that have not been properly cared for, unintentionally neglected, or exposed to a harmful environment by an uneducated owner.

While it is uncommon, birds can die during transit on a commerical airline.  Most commercial airlines insure against such losses.  In the rare event that a bird dies during transit, customers must file a claim for the loss of the bird with the airline prior to leaving the airport.  Fairest Finches & Supply recommends that customers take a copy of the invoice received from FF&S with them to the airport to evidence the purchase and cost of any lost birds.

Special Order for Live Birds -- Customers are required to pay a 50% deposit of the total amount of all birds they request Fairest Finches & Supply to order on their behalf from another source (i.e., a breeder or broker).  FF&S does not guarantee the health or life of any bird(s) that it special orders for customers from other sources.

Fairest Finches & Supply will notify the customer via telephone or email within 24 hours upon its receipt of a special order bird(s) and establish a date and time for the customer to take possession of the bird(s).  While FF&S will take reasonable  care to maintain the special order bird(s), FF&S is not financially or otherwise liable for the life or health of any special order bird(s).  In the event a special order bird(s) dies prior to the established date and time for the customer to take possession of the bird(s), the customer remains financially liable and agrees to pay FF&S for the deceased bird(s).

Cancellation on Avian Products -- Orders for avian products that have been shipped are non-cancellable.

Cancellation on Live Birds -- Orders for live birds that are being shipped via Delta Air can be canceled before Fairest Finches & Supply has purchased the flight ticket for the shipment.  Customers who cancel their order of a live bird(s) prior to purchase of the flight ticket forfeit their deposit.  Customers who cancel their order of a special order bird(s) after FF&S has been charged for the special order bird(s), forfeit their deposit.

Customers are required to provide Fairest Finches & Supply at least 24 hours notice via telephone or email if they are unable to take possession of an ordered bird(s) at the established date and time.  Customers who do not provide FF&S at least 24 hours notice and do not take possession of the bird(s) at the established date and time forfeit their deposit, and FF&S shall make the bird(s) available for sale to the public.  At Fairest Finches & Supply's discretion, a second attempt may be made to establish a date and time for customers to take possession of ordered birds.
